Privacy policy
Effective date: July 21, 2026
This policy explains what data the Trumansol Driver mobile app ("the app") collects, why, how it's used and shared, and how you can exercise your rights over it. It applies to drivers who use the app. Trumansol ("we," "us," "our") operates the app.
Data we collect
Account information
When you create an account, we collect your email address and password, and optionally your name and phone number. Account creation and sign-in are handled by Supabase, our backend provider (see "Third-party services" below). We issue a session and access/refresh tokens on sign-in, which are cached on your device so you stay signed in.
Location
The app requests location access that includes background-capable permission.On Android this is ACCESS_BACKGROUND_LOCATION in addition to foreground location permissions, and on iOS this is the "Always" location authorization in addition to "While Using the App." We want to be explicit about this because it's a meaningful permission to grant.
In current app behavior, location is read and shown on the in-app map only while you have an active pickup or delivery screen open. Tracking starts when that screen opens and stops when you leave it. Your most recent coordinates are also saved on your own device, not to our servers, so the map can resume smoothly. We do not currently transmit your location to our servers or any third party outside of what's needed to render the map itself (see Google Maps below).
Still confirming: why background location is requested
We haven't yet confirmed why background-capable location permission is requested when the app, as currently built, only reads location while an active pickup or delivery screen is open. We'll either document the real reason here or narrow the permission to foreground-only once that's settled. We are not stating a reason here that we haven't verified.
Photos
The app asks for camera and photo library access to capture proof-of-pickup and proof-of-delivery photos. At least 4 photos at pickup and at least 1 at delivery are required to complete a job. These photos are uploaded directly to Trumansol's own backend servers, tied to the relevant job.
Technical data
Every request the app makes to our servers includes basic technical information: your app version and platform, iOS or Android. We do not use any analytics or crash-reporting service in the app.
Job and shipment data
Container numbers, pickup/return PINs, delivery addresses, and job status are stored and displayed in the app as part of normal operation. This is operational shipment data tied to your assigned jobs.
Third-party services
The app relies on the following third-party services, each of which receives some of the data described above:
- Supabase, our backend provider, handles account authentication, session management, and stores job and account data in its database.
- Firebase Cloud Messaging (Google) delivers push notifications to your device, using a device token to address them to you.
- Google Maps renders the in-app map and your live position on it while a pickup or delivery screen is open.
Proof-of-pickup and proof-of-delivery photos are uploaded directly to Trumansol's own backend servers, not to a third party.
How we use and share data
We use account data to authenticate you and operate your driver account. We use job and shipment data to assign, track, and complete deliveries. We use photos as proof of pickup and delivery. We share data with the third-party services listed above only as needed for them to provide the functionality described. We do not sell your personal data.
Data retention
Still confirming: how long data is kept
We haven't finalized how long account credentials, cached location data, and uploaded photos are kept. We'll list the retention period for each data type here once that's settled.
Your rights and account deletion
You can request deletion of your account and associated data at any time, without needing to open or reinstall the app, via our account deletion page. That page explains what's deleted, what's retained, and the timeframe for completion.
Children's privacy
The Trumansol Driver app is intended for use by professional drivers and is not directed at, or knowingly used by, children.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the app changes. We'll update the effective date above when we do.
